Advertising Spending Dropped 14.3% During The First Six Months of 2009

TNS Media Intelligence issued a statement that advertising spendings driopped 14.3% during the first six month of 2009. $60.87 were spent what is way less comparing with the same period in 2008. Los Angeles Times stated that “even media is buying less media” and pointed that companies like Walt Disney, News Corp., and Time Warner cut their advertising and media buying expenses.
Internet is the only growing media:
Many companies switched their traditional advertising with internet advertising. Spending for web marketing increased by 6.5% in the first half of 2009. Buzz around social media sites like Facebook and Twitter helped to attract more companies which was not sure (did not trust) before.
