Web 2.0 Became An Outdated Term

October 01, 2009 By: Sergey Rusak Category: News, Social Media No Comments →

Web 2.0 term emerged in 2004 to describe new websites, design trends, and applications. Many will agree that Web 2.0 term was used to show that Internet has changed and became better and at some point smarter. Many technology companies were using term to show that dotcom bubble in the past and Internet is different now. Web 2.0 term became a powerful term to sell new products such as application, scripts, web design, software, web tools etc. By the middle of 2007 term was overused and Google Trends (see graph below) shows that search volume for the term used to be extremely high.

Web 2.0 trend showing how people search for the term on Google.

After 2007 less people began to use web 2.0 term and in 2009 it became clear that term is completely outdated. From one point it is became clear that nothing changed, we still have the same Internet like in 1995 but with higher speed, more options, and better interface. From another site, it is became easy to build websites, blogs, and flashy design, even middle school kid can build “Web 2.0″ blog with flashy design and buttons.

How to Get YouTube Video on Google Organic Search & Optimize It.

September 16, 2009 By: Sergey Rusak Category: Social Media, Web Marketing 5 Comments →

Today another person asked me how to get YouTube video on Google Search, make optimization, and improve rankings. It actually suprised me because I had the same question in the past. YouTube is another website and Google treat YouTube like any other site. Some people are saying that Google prefers to rank YouTube better because YouTube is part of Google network… it is not true. In fact, Google does not give any preferences to it’s own sites, for example, search for a keyword ”translator” and you’ll see that Yahoo Text Translator appears higher than Google Translator. YouTube rank high on Google (and other search engines) becasuse it is the best video sharing network and one of the most popular site in the world with billions content pages.

As you see, it is not only YouTube videos but also other networks as well.

Google treat YouTube videos the same way like any other popular video sharing sites (Veoh, MetaCafe, Revver etc). It creates snippet with video preview for popular videos or regular result preview for less popular videos. It is automatic process and if your video is popular enough it will appear in search results for related keywords. I would say even more, authors of popular and viral videos almost never use any search engine optimization to gain success.

AzoogleAds Fake Check from Jeremy Shoemaker

Jeremy Shoemaker made fake picture of him holding $500 000 dollars check from AzoogleAds. He did not hide that it is a joke and it was saying on his blog that the image was made on Photoshop and everyone can post it on his blog or forum. Suddenly image appeared in numerous blogs and websites; some of them (who don’t know how to read) made sensation out of image saying that Jeremy really earned half million using AzoogleAds. Other blogs and networks accused Jeremy in lying to his own readers. Anyway, result was just great… Shoemoney blog and AzoogleAds got extra web visibility, more backlinks, higher traffic, and more leads.

Jeremy stated on his blog: “It was an amazingly good campaign for them. Its been on numerous websites who think they have discovered it was fake… even though it says it here. Good for traffic” and added in different post “I am still amazed how all these sites get duped so easily, It’s great for traffic though so I will take it”.
