Dimitri the Stud, Year Long Viral Sensation is a Hoax
18,363 people read this post so far!I hate to be a party pooper but the most popular voicemail Dimitry the Stud is fake, hoax, staged, and not real! I don’t know how many people already showed me this YouTube video and blog posts… I am tired to tell everyone that the guy who stay behind Dimitri the Stud hoax is James Sears who call himself Dimitri the Lover and run a website with the same name. He lives in Toronto and used to work as psychiatrist but in 1994 he lost his licence. Now James call himself a pick up expert and sell books and advices for guys who want to be successful with women.

For those who never watched or listened Dimitry the Stud I’ll remind, in 2008 blogs and social media sites posted recordings of the voicemail from a desperate guy name Dimitri who called girl Olga after she gave him her business card in the bar. In the first message Dimitry tells that “women approach him 6 or 7 times a day, but Olga is the one who got unique opportunity to meet him and let romance to begin”, in the second message Dimitry is getting really upset that Olga never called, he set a dead-line to call him back, tells her that she might have passion aggressive disorder, explain that he is a great “catch” who is great in bed. I mean, there are a lot of creeps out there and i guess most girls met guys like this in their life experience. Dimitri the Stud seems realistic, you need to hear:
Listen Dimitri the Stud:
Over 500 000 people saw Dimitry the Stud video on YouTube, and some blogs received more than million page impression (Example: Blog post on Posterous received over 900 000 pageviews in 3 weeks).
Update 9/16/2009:
Many people have contacted us demanding to know how we can be so sure that the voicemails are viral marketing hoaxes for a Dimitri The Lover movie. Please note that we did not rely solely on heresay posted on the internet. We did our research and obtained reliable information from sources involved in the Hollywood movie project. We are the first web site to break this story because we took the time to do our research, so as such it will not be believed until the mainstream media picks it up.

OMG! I saw the posterous blog post yesterday and read this comment, which I confirmed to be completely accurate when I contacted a friend at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival):
Hello:
The voicemails are just VIRAL MARKETING for a Hollywood film about Dimitri The Lover. Let me explain. I’m a member of the “Toronto Real Men”, the world’s only anti-metrosexual organization, run by “Dimitri The Lover”, aka “The Prophet”. In the same way that John Connor fights the machines for survival of humanity in “The Terminator”, The Prophet has dedicated his life to fight “Metrosexuality” for the survival of masculinity. He is a modern-day Rasputin … a real-life Tyler Durden.
Here is the web site for the “Toronto Real Men”: http://torontorealmen.com … if you go to the section in the menu on the left titled “Meeting Announcements”, then click on “August”, you will understand everything he is trying to do. Also, if you click on the link on the left titled “Media Centre”, there’s both a radio interview and an appearance in a documentary so you can hear The Prophet speak.
Also, everyone knows that women in Toronto are stuck up and play games. Here is how The Prophet deals with a single woman that likes him but still refuses to cough up her number … he hands her this flyer: http://pics.livejournal.com/suspiciouslump/pic/00001pse
Here is a link to some animations that have been banned by YouTube but give you a great indication of The Prophet’s philosophy: http://dimitrithelover.com/animation.html … the “Crucifixion of Dimitri” represents how he has suffered for all men.
Finally, here is The Prophet’s main web site: http://dimitrithelover.com
We heard at the last meeting that his Hollywood film (the one that the producers of Borat and Bruno created) is completed and should be released in the next few months. Then the world will know the truth about what The Prophet is doing to rid the world of feminism once and for all.
WORSHIP THE COCK !!!

Janet, I saw the same comment posted on millopms other blogs, so… I guess you work for Dimitri the Lover. I don’t like to approve duplicate comments but I find it pretty funny. Good luck with the movie, send me DVD.

I think you misunderstood Sergey. I think Janet was saying that she saw the comment on the other blog and she was sharing the comment with everyone. I don’t think she works for the movie studio. I saw that comment too. It was posted by some guy called Jamie. I figured out very quickly that he probably works for them. I am surprised more people are not talking about what happened. Either way, the voicemails have to receive the award for the best internet viral marketing ever. I like the way the “movie script” is mentioned very subtly in the voicemails, to give us foreshadowing of the release. Very ingenious. I work for a marketing company and I am totally in awe of the brilliance of what they have done. The fact that over the last year everything was kept under wraps and only now they are beginning to disseminate the illusion is priceless. Wow!

Thank you, I just Googled some words from the previous comments and found many duplications. It seemed like Janet was trying to promote all sites and information which belong to James Sears. We all know that many webmasters are trying to get extra link
Now i see… Thanks Janet!!!
I was suprised as well because most creators of viral jokes wait a little bit whan it spread and come after saying. It was me!!! You know. Dimitri the Lover got a lot of patience, I am suprised. Noting mentioned on his website about voicemail success. Maybe he wants to use voicemail in the movie trailer to shock public who thought that it was real.

Sergey, thank you so much for posting this! I actually dated “Dimitri” before he was “Dimitri The Lover”, and he NEVER seemed the type that would leave messages like that (unless maybe he was kidding around). Not his style. When I first heard the voicemails back around Christmas I called him up and confronted him about them. He said something along the lines of “it’s my voice but it’s not what you think”. When I pressed him further he said “it’s related to a very lucrative project, the voicemails were my idea, but that’s all I can say”. He’s been tight-lipped ever since. But now I know the “project” is a film. What a fucker! Thanks once again.

Thank you Karen, many people tell me that Dimitri don’t want to leak information… I think he keep this voice mail to include in movie trailer.
It is interesting if it was coincidence (he was playing around and some girl really posted his message), his idea to launch viral campaign, or he actually work with marketing firm who help to create viral ideas.
Again, thank you for great information!!!

I live in Montreal but my cousin in Toronto attends “Toronto Real Men” meetings religiously. Supposedly the attendees have known about this viral marketing hoax for over a year but swore an oath of secrecy to Dimitri. Now Dimitri’s furious at one of his guys for leaking it out and has banned him from meetings. The guy was supposedly doing so in good faith to defend Dimitri from criticism regarding the voicemails, but that really was no excuse. The cat’s out of the bag now. Oh well, I can’t wait to see the movie!!!

Thank you for “inside” information. I think Dimitri should not afraid of this, 99.9% people believe that it is true voicemail.

Really, I don’t trust it at all. Not the blog, but the idea that he’s a real pickup guru. His film is being produced by the makers of BORAT and BRUNO. I mean, really.

Really, I don’t trust any people who call themself pickup guru. I mean, if you spend 24/7 trying to pick up women you’ll be way more successful than guys who talk to women on Friday nights only.
I mean, I knew one guy who was really successful with women but he was the best dancer I ever saw in my life. He was able to explode whole place with his moves. He wasn’t picking girls using some “hidden” techniques…

Where’s the proof that the VMs were a hoax? And even if they were, Sears is a real person and a wack job, as indicated in past news stories.

Matt, I see. There are so many opinions and I think that only Dimityry can answer the questions. Is he just an actor or he is really some type of “wannabe”. I also found that some guys attend his courses for years, so, apparently he help some of them. By typing on Google “Dimitri the lover scam” I can’t find any information or complaints from guys who actually paid money and was dissapointed.
Remember the show “Pick up Artist” from 2-3 years ago. This guy made tons of money and we can’t accuse him of being a jerk, creep, or scammer. In fact, many people will agree that many of his suggestions was a bullshit which doesn’t work in real life.

From what I can tell, he is for real. I can’t find anything regarding a movie that doesn’t originate from Demitri himself – so how do we trust that?? I’m beginning to think he was so humiliated that she posted the voicemails he then decided to turn it around in his favor. Has anyone seen this movie or confirmed it was a hoax that didn’t hear it from Demitri or a member of Toronto Real Men? If it has truly been confirmed as a hoax, is his whole shtick a hoax too? Is he really a psychiatrist turned pickup artist?

I posted further up (my cousin attends Toronto Real Men meetings). My cousin says that this Dimitri The Lover guy works in bizarre yet ingenious ways. My cousin has applied several of his very, very strange, borderline abusive, misogynistic techniques, and found them to be highly effective in confusing women to the point where they become vulnerable to seduction.
For example, if you look at Dimitri The Lover’s next meeting announcement, http://www.dimitrithelover.com/toronto_real_men_october_2009.html, he is dedicating the meeting to Grigori Rasputin and he is teaching men how to legally rape women with their minds. If you read the entire announcement (the thing is hilarious and I’ve emailed it to everyone I know), about 3/4 of the way down, you find this paragraph:
“The Prophet will review how to utilize the DOUCHIEST VOICEMAIL MESSAGES to both amuse and confound a slut to the point where she MUST call to berate you, at which time you will spring a mind-fucking psychological trap on her! He will discuss the most subliminally effective tone of voice, cadence, and wording for the messages, so as to simultaneously evoke disgust and intrigue. He will provide all meeting attendees with a copy of a DOUCHEY FLYER that he hands to any single, desperately underfucked woman that admits her physical attractiveness to him, yet refuses to submit to his sexual advances, even though he is not charging her money for the service. Finally, Dimitri The Lover will give meeting attendees some inside information concerning his upcoming Hollywood documentary, which is being co-produced with some of the people involved with the Borat and Bruno films.”
So I think what Dimitri’s doing is reserving these types of messages more to create “shock and awe”. Most women I’ve spoken to said they would have called him back to tell him to “fuck off”. As a psychiatrist, he would have then likely mind fucked them into some sort of hypnotic submission. I have a feeling that the viral voicemails were meant to totally confound the general public and get them talking. If they were straightforward NLP or other seduction methods, the chatter would have stayed within the seduction community and not disseminated. By making them totally outrageous, he risks scorn, yet gets the buzz out. Also, according to my cousin the movie was supposed to be released late 2008, but there were delays with Bruno that threw the entire production company’s schedule awry, and fucked up Dimitri’s movie dateline. The voicemails were only meant to be circulating around for a few months. It is only extreme discipline that has kept their true purpose under wraps until now.
Anyway, I am very, very intrigued by this next TRM meeting. I travel between Montreal and Toronto for work, and want so desperately to schedule time around this meeting so I can attend.

You don’t actually believe that pile of steaming BS, do you? If Dimitri had such godlike control over women, he would not have gotten his medical license taken away after several women filed complaints about his conduct. To use your silly terminology, he would have been able to “mind-fuck” them into compliance instead.
Dimitri is a “bottom of the barrel” hunter. He thinks it’s some kind of genius technique to play mind games; one of his patented “secrets” is probably the old “hot and cold” contrast technique. His strategy is obviously to go after large numbers of women, knowing that a certain percentage of them have low self-esteem or other problems which might make them actually want to play along with these kinds of childish games.
The kind of high quality woman who you’ll be able to marry, have kids with, and trust to actually raise them properly is not going to be secured through ridiculous methods like this.

As far as I know, Dimitri the Lover movie was supposed to come out right after Bruno, but it is still in production stage. I guess they learned a lesson from failure of Bruno. I think they want to redo it a little bit.

I loved Borat! I thought the movie was absolutely brilliant. However, Borat was successful because the Borat character was an idiot and a bigot, but he was a stupid one who didn’t realize he was doing anything wrong. It was funny to see the way people reacted to his cretinous behaviour, especially when they made themselves look as bad or worse than him.
I can’t imagine that a movie about Dimitri The Lover would fare nearly as well; if the guy’s published attitudes are in any way reflective of his real personality (and sadly, I’ve known guys like this), then it’s just sad. And if it’s a pure parody character, then he won’t be a very sympathetic one. At best, it would be like “Foot Fist Way”, where the film is sunk by the fact that the main character is such a douchebag.
September 20th, 2009 at 12:08 am
According to Wikipedia, Dimitri The Lover lost his “medical license” 17 years ago, and Dimitri says on his web site that he started his “seduction research” about 15 years ago, so there appears to be a time lag which may explain his lack of seduction acumen while practising medicine. And from my friend at TIFF that I chatted with, the Hollywood film features hidden camera footage of Dimitri seducing gorgeous girls throughout Toronto. I consider myself a quality, marriage material woman that would like to have kids, and frankly, I find Dimitri’s take on women rather refereshing. I went to your web site, Michael, and it was nauseatingly boring. I hope someone euthanizes me before my life becomes that mundane. Now, the whole “Church of Dimitri of Latter Day Sluts” thing appeals to me far more.

I would have to concur with Mistress Spencer, Michael. Dimitri The Lover is the personification of the darkness. He is the Dark Prophet … the chosen one, as was fortold many generations ago. Your web site represents the nauseatingly glaring light of safe, boring content. We officially banish you from this discussion, oh mundane one!

Oh no, normal people in the real world are boring because we just live our normal lives and don’t follow a “Dark Prophet”! You don’t even realize how ridiculous you look.

goodness, a blog post making proofless assertions that this is some clever viral marketing campaign and pointing at all the spam message board postings on the internet as backup.
two things: 1) if your viral advertising campaign is so pathetic that you need to *explain* the campaign every five minutes, you need to go back to the drawing board. you’ve failed at the “viral” part.
2) post your sources if this is some real film. all you’ve done here is make empty claims.

Funny that I can tell right away (knowing “Dimitri” personally) that he is behind at least a handful of comments around here, as his style of writing and trying to come off as not him is so obvious, time and time again.
And yea, the excuse of those voicemails being viral marketing now that the movie is actually somehow apparently happening instead of what they really are (Dimitri being an arrogant, ignorant and delusional idiot and telling everyone about it on some girl’s voicemail machine), that’s just lame, bro… get over it – people really don’t look up to you. They look at you and go “What a freak…”

I’m just not sure I care whether the voicemails are viral marketing or not–Dimitri’s a creepy asshole either way and I have zero intention of ever giving him money via movie or any other route. I don’t find him funny.
I’m sure he does manage to get laid, because god knows there are women out there with no self-esteem. Fortunately, there are a lot more with.
His marketers pretending to be regular commenters are kind of funny, though!
