Google made, is making, and will make millions of dollars by selling ads on viral videos like Evolution of Dance, Lonelygirl15, or Will it Blend. But what about authors who helped YouTube to generate billions page impressions and hits? Finally, Google announced on Tuesday that authors of viral hits will be able to make money from ad revenue through YouTube Partnership Program (YPP).
YouTube issued a statement: In the Future Everyone Will Mmonetize Their 15 Minutes.
It is not the first practice when video sharing network run ad revenue sharing program. Revver, video network shares 50/50 ads revenue with creators and some YouTube superstars was using Revver to get at least some profit from their viral hits. It been reported that some Revver users earned over $50 000 dollars for viral videos.
