Web applications became a powerful tool in marketing. Success of Elf Yourself by Office Max turned web application into powerful marketing tool to generate brand awareness in online and offline media. Creation of web application and placing it on a corporate website brings more traffic to a website when “word of mouth” spreads across social networks like Facebook, MySpace, or Twitter.
My “creation” on MadMenYourself, I called it “Me in 20 years”.
I am not a big fan of television and I never saw Mad Men television series… but one day I noticed that all my Facebook friends posted some pictures of intelligent people on their walls and photo albums. Following my friends I came across MadMen Yourself application, nothing great but exiting at some point. Mad Men Yourself let users to create images and avatars which look like heroes in the show. Mad Man Yourself brought more attention to third season of television series by creating “Facebook and Twitter effect” and it is another proof of social media power.
