Yahoo Goes Social. New Look, Features, and Services
136 people read this post so far!Yahoo announced new features for it’s search, mail, messaging services. New upgrades will make it easier to connect with different social sites, improve usability, and make better interface. New features is a follow up on new homepage which was released in July.

One of the key point of new upgrades is to let users connect and add links to their favorite social sites like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and other. Yahoo plans to integrate all their services as well as services outside Yahoo network. Some social tools should add more interaction between visitors, “What are you doing?” option (kind of like Twitter) will be available for email user.
Yahoo also plans to improve mail and make it easier to highlight messages from contact list and make it easier to block newsletters and spam.
It is clear that Yahoo is trying to improve user friendliness and keep people on their site as much as possible to increase impressions and clicks for advertisers. From another side, release of new features is a follow up to Microsoft’s success with Bing which already took some market share from Yahoo and Google.
